Hello! :)

Designing systems that work in the real world

I'm Lucas, a Senior Product Designer working at the intersection of complex systems, technical constraints, and real-world execution.

Over the past decade, I’ve worked across automotive platforms, scalable design systems, and multi-step digital products—leading projects that move from ambiguity to production under real constraints.

My work is system-aware, execution-focused, and built to last.

What I Do

I specialize in:

  • Turning ambiguity into executable system architectures
  • Designing under hardware, cost, and regulatory constraints
  • Aligning cross-functional teams around clear design decisions
  • Translating complexity into structured, scalable experiences

In highly constrained environments—especially automotive—design is rarely about visual exploration alone. It is about making correct decisions that engineering, manufacturing, and business can sustain.

How I Think About Design

I approach product design as a structural discipline but I adapt the level of depth to the risk and maturity of the product.

START with Risk

What could break? What must scale? What cannot change?

Reduce complexity first

Before adding features, clarify the architecture.

align before polishing

A beautiful interface without structural alignment is fragile.

design for longevity

If a system (visual or functional) cannot adapt to future variations, it is not finished.

Experience & Scope

I've led production automotive instrument clusters deployed at scale, low-cost platform architectures supporting multiple engine types, and digital platforms focused on clarity and conversion.

My projects require alignment across engineering, suppliers, brand teams, and international stakeholders... Where clarity of communication and structured decision-making are as critical as the interface itself.

Background

My background combines industrial-scale thinking and formal visual arts training.

I studied Industrial Engineering, where I developed a systems mindset, understanding manufacturing constraints, scalability, ergonomics, and structured project organization.

Alongside this, I studied Visual Arts and worked with branding and photography... Deepening my understanding of composition, perception, visual structure, and expressive clarity.

Over time, these tracks converged into product design, where structure and expression must coexist under real constraints.

This trajectory allows me to approach design not only as interface creation, but as system architecture that works at scale.

Let’s Connect

I’m open to senior IC and lead roles in complex product environments, as well as selected branding engagements where clarity, structure, and long-term coherence matter.

If you're building systems, product or brand, that must work under real constraints, let’s talk.
